Creating Effective Learning Environments

Course Description

This course is all about designing an effective learning environment to promote children’s learning and positive behavior. Effective learning environments are intentionally designed spaces where the physical environment, activities, routines, and transitions work together to encourage active engagement, hands-on learning, and meaningful interactions. 

Throughout this course, you will:

• Learn strategies you can use to structure your learning space and routines.
• Explore how intentionally designed learning environments can maximize engagement and minimize challenging behaviors.
• Learn strategies for adapting your environment to support every learner.

This course includes six learning modules:

• An Introduction to Effective Learning Environments
• Designing Your Physical Learning Environment
• Planning Engaging Activities
• Increasing Engagement During Activities
• Effective Transitions
• Effective Routines

 Each module

• Explores a strategy using lessons, activities, and short quizzes.
• Takes about 20 minutes to complete.  
• Tracks your progress, so you can pick back up where you left off.

Once you complete all of the modules, you will receive a certificate of completion.
