Relate: Supporting Young Children’s Relationship Skills

Course Description

The Core Skill Relate is a child's ability to connect with adults, peers, and their sense of self. This includes building and maintaining relationships, managing conflicts, and developing empathy and confidence.

In this course, you’ll get to know each skill in more detail and see what they look like in action. Along the way, we’ll highlight STREAMin³ strategies and curriculum components you can use to support young children in their development.

This course includes 7 learning modules that cover the following topics:

• An Introduction to Relate
• Relationships with Adults
• Relationships with Peers
• Problem-Solving with Others
• Sense of Self
• Empathy
• Self-Confidence

 Each module

• Explores a routine using lessons, activities, and short quizzes.
• Takes about 20 minutes to complete.  
• Tracks your progress, so you can pick back up where you left off.

Once you complete all of the modules, you will receive a certificate of completion.
